We collect used items on behalf of many kidney patient service organizations (), a publicly supported 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Founded in 1971 with a mission to fight kidney disease, provides direct financial support to American dialysis and transplant patients in need. “KST” has several conveniently located donation drop-off points in the Dallas, Texas, area—just bring your items to any Value World thrift store during the store’s regular business hours, and “KST” will take it from there!

Consider that dialysis patients face many unique hardships, especially as they navigate the COVID-19 pandemic. Due to their underlying medical condition, these individuals are at high risk for serious illness if they become infected with the novel coronavirus. And unlike many other people, they cannot stay home because they cannot postpone their life-sustaining treatments.

Likewise, post-transplant patients must take immunosuppressive medications that increase their susceptibility to diseases like coronavirus. These patients are in dire need of funds to help cover the costs of their lifesaving prescription medications, “kidney-friendly” foods, and transportation to and from their treatment sessions.

In the past several months, has received an unprecedented number of requests for assistance. Through its newly established Coronavirus Emergency Fund, is making emergency grants to kidney disease patients to help lessen the financial impact they are facing in these challenging times.
